I'm going to be VERY sore tomorrow..

Yesterday I walked up about 30 flights of stairs to get to Dori Pamphili Park. It's a "hike" through Trastevere and up Janiculum Hill (which is one of the tallest hills in Rome) but the view is worth it. There are so many statues, fountains, palm trees, and views of the city... I only probably only saw 1/10 of the park because it is so huge. I can't wait to go back there soon and explore more!

These are pictures from my walk on Friday:

I want this house/villa : )

I thought yesterday that I walked a lot... but today I HIKED A MOUNTAIN! I don't even know if I would call it hiking because I felt more like a mountain goat and a monkey. My roommates and I signed up about a month ago for this hike up Mounte Cierco, thinking it would be just a nice fun hike near the ocean. I do have to say it was very beautiful, but it was not a nice fun hike. The trail started off very steep and then we were practically climbing through bushes and up rocks the rest of the way. I'm also very glad I'm over my fear of heights because there were times when I was literally walking on the side of a cliff straight down into the Mediterranean. At one point I felt like I was Simba climbing up pride rock... then I felt like a monkey because I was "swinging" from tree to tree. I'm not exaggerating when I saw my roommate slip right in front of me and grab a branch above her head and swing like she was on a playground. It was terrifying but absolutely hysterical at the same time. The views the whole entire hike were absolutely amazing and almost hard to believe. I'm definitely glad I did it. Although I'm not sure my knees will agree with me.

These next two smaller pictures I didn't take from my camera (they are from flicker) I only have one at the peak and a few from the bottom because I was concentrating on not dying. I think this pictures shows off the mountain very well though. If you look at the left bottom corner of both pictures it shows the first little peak that we hiked up to then we made our way across from peak to peak. The pictures I took of the mountain are from the beach below in the second picture.

These are from my friend's camera because like I said.. I was concentrating on my inner mountain goat and not dying.

This is our CRAZY guide who like ran up the mountain and just said "How do you say in inglese? No pain, No gain!" and kept going.

This was the start of the hike non stop for about 30 mins. What a workout! It was awesome though

Just climbing up a little rock path through the bushes..

I'm actually in the middle of this picture (dark blue shorts and tie dye shirt)

We climbed from peak to peak and across that ridge!

These are the two pictures I have on my camera.
